Qualifications:
In honor and memory of the late great education visionary Dr. Edna Rowery Allen, we are awarding scholarships in the amounts of $500, $1000, $1,500 to deserving high school graduating seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA who have been accepted into an institution of higher learning.
The student applicants must exhibit clear examples of excellence in leadership and community service, must be a U.S. citizen, and attend attend high school in E. St. Louis District #189.

Submit the Dr. Edna Rowery Allen Scholarship Foundation application by July 1, 2023.

Expect to or have graduated high school by June of 2023 and have been accepted by an institution of higher learning for the Fall of 2023 semester (letter of acceptance must be provided).

Submit a 300-word personal essay career goals and/or interests, and how you've shown leadership in your school and or local community. Share any challenges that you may have faced and how you worked to overcome them, and describe the impact that a college degree would have on you. Essays must be typed and double-spaced. Microsoft Word, and/or pdf files are accepted.

Have current student leadership or volunteer experience (e.g. student organization; community, sports team involvement)

Provide one signed letter of recommendation, on official letterhead, from a community leader, teacher, counselor, principal, employer, or coach). PDF files accepted only.
